It seems that some people take what I write about to heart at times. While, yes, writers tend to draw from their own lives and experiences, that doesn’t mean I’m pulling directly and entirely from my life.
So, to you, my dear readers, I write this disclaimer.
I hope you enjoy my writing. I know that I pour my heart and soul into every word. With that being said, I’m a fiction writer, and by definition, I write what comes to my mind and may not always have a basis in truth and everyday life. The only nonfiction writing I do is this blog, Mutterings. My writing is meant to reach people from all walks of life and to allow those same varied people to connect to something. That is what we do when we read, no? We immerse ourselves in a character, a life, a story, a poem. That is how we connect to our readings and literature is one of many ways to connect with people worldwide.
Language is so important that people incapable of communicating due to deafness, muteness, or a multitude of other reasons have created other means of communication. Be it ASL, another country’s sign language, text, e-mail, lip-reading, language translators, etcetera, people always find a way. My way and my communication are through literature. Should you feel that it applies to you, then my job as a writer is done.
To my dedicated readers, I love you all and thank you for your continued patronage and support. Happy New Years!
